Cheer Teams
The Howell Lions are made up of the following divisions. We're very proud of our cheerleaders, they support not only our football teams on game day but they are on the forefront of making this organization nationally recognized.

ABOUT POP WARNER CHEER
Pop Warner Spirit teams have participated for several decades on the football sidelines (Pep Squads, Majorettes, etc.); however, cheerleading was not officially introduced until the 1970’s.
Today, thousands of youth participate in Pop Warner Cheerleading and Dance teams around the United States.
The Cheer and Dance Program offers a range of opportunity for young athletes at all skill levels on both the sideline at games and on the mat at competitions. Together with the Youth Cheer and Dance Alliance (YCADA), Pop Warner provides educational courses for its coaches, administrators, and judges for Show Cheer (levels 1-4), Sideline Performance Cheer, and Dance (pom, hip hop, theme).
Since 1988, the Pop Warner National Cheer and Dance Championships have been held in Florida. To reach the national stage, a cheer team must advance through local conference and regional competitions by placing first or second in its division (other qualifying teams can also move on to Nationals after meeting certain scoring criteria).
For 2025, Nationals moves to the Queen City of Charlotte, North Carolina where the best of the best will compete for a chance to leave their mark on Pop Warner history. With over twenty national titles, Howell Pop Warner Cheer certainly has a legacy of its own.
